Do I need this, given our devs are using AI to assist development?

Absolutely, yes! This is due to two key reasons:

  1. AI models are not built using secure code. Thus, they have learnt insecure coding practices and can’t be relied to output secure code (GitHub Copilot makes insecure code even less secure)
  2. AI models do not have the coding context. Thus, they miss on a lot of vulnerabilities that a developer will be able to identify and fix
